The Netherlands is small, friendly, and full of charm. In one trip, travelers can cruise historic canals, see millions of tulips, visit real windmills, and cycle through peaceful countryside. Trains are quick and the country is very easy to explore.
Below are the top 5 destinations that make the Netherlands a perfect pick for your next holiday.

Amsterdam is famous for its 17th-century canal ring, narrow houses, and thousands of bicycles. Visitors can take a canal cruise, visit the Van Gogh Museum, and see the Anne Frank House.

Keukenhof is one of the world's biggest flower gardens, with millions of tulips in every color. It is open only for a short time each spring, so it feels extra special.

Kinderdijk has 19 old windmills standing along the water. They were built to keep the land dry. Visitors can walk or cycle the paths, take a boat ride, and even go inside a windmill.

Giethoorn is a peaceful village where houses sit on small islands and people travel by quiet boats. Thatched roofs, wooden bridges, and gardens make it feel like a fairy tale.

Rotterdam shows the modern side of the Netherlands, with bold buildings such as the Cube Houses and the busy Markthal food market. It is full of art, design, and fresh ideas.

Planning a trip to the Netherlands? Whether you need a visa depends on the passport you hold, not on where you live. If your passport requires a Schengen visa, you apply for a short-stay (Type C) visa that lets you stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The Netherlands has applied Schengen rules since 1995. Most travellers fly into Amsterdam or another major city, and the visa works across the whole Schengen area.
Swift Holidays is a UK-registered travel company. We help you check your documents, book your appointment and arrange the insurance and travel reservations your application needs.
The exact list depends on your nationality, job and travel plans, and the consulate can ask for more. We check your documents against the current requirements before you apply.
